Questions?
There are people who experience music as something more than sound — as a doorway into something larger than themselves, a practice that has carried them through the best and hardest seasons of their lives. Music Week at Lutheridge was made for those people.
This is one of camp’s longest-standing and most beloved adult traditions — a week in the Blue Ridge Mountains built entirely around the joy of making music together. Renowned clinicians and musicians lead workshops in choral singing, handbells, organ, and more, creating a week that is equal parts learning and celebration. Reading sessions help participants bring new music back to their home congregations and communities. The Hymn Fest is one of the great musical gatherings of the summer — voices filling the mountain air with something that has to be experienced to be fully understood.
But Music Week has always been about more than the music. It’s about the community that forms when people who share a deep love of sacred music find each other, sing together, worship together, and spend a week doing the thing they love most alongside others who feel exactly the same way. Daily Bible study anchors the week in reflection and meaning, and the friendships that form here have a way of lasting long after the final note fades.
If you have spent years giving your musical gifts to a congregation — playing, conducting, singing, directing — this is a week that gives something back to you. And if you simply love sacred music and have always wanted to go deeper, you belong here too.
Adults are housed in comfortable adult lodging.
