Work With Us

Luther Springs offers counselors an opportunity to gain leadership skills for their life and share them with their campers. At Luther Springs this summer, you will make a difference in the lives of campers, and the experience will change yours forever.

Find your place on staff.

Counselors at Luther Springs lead in more than one place. Here’s where a summer on staff can take you.

At camp.

Lead campers through a week of crafts, Bible study, games and campfires.

Through the night.

At Gators, counselors flip the campers’ day: staying up later, sleeping in, and ending the week with worship on the dock at sunrise.

On the road.

Counselors also get the chance to travel around Florida, leading day camps at local congregations.

Leading the leaders.

Program coordinators and assistant program directors mentor counselors through the summer.

“I wanted to be able to grow spiritually and be a better teacher for others.”

In his second summer as a Luther Springs counselor, Elliot Rose talked with Assistant Program Director Macy Bakken about ministry vocations. She gave him spiritual practices to try.

  1. journaling
  2. meditation
  3. the labyrinth

“I realized the way I had approached spirituality was very one dimensional.”

As Elliot tried new habits, he started to see new perspectives and became a better teacher. Then he led campers in a devotional time at the prayer labyrinth.

How we get you ready.

Staff training comes before the first camper arrives, with the skills and practice you need to lead.

Staff training.

During staff training, counselors teach each other the Bible studies they plan to lead for the summer, and some even act like campers for part of the time.

Mentors on staff.

Elliot Rose credits camp leaders with his growth: “I think camp leaders are 100% the reason that I have been able to learn how to teach and share.”

Ready for your campers.

Rashard Braboy was nervous before his first summer. “But my training prepared me well for campers and I found it was natural to be the counselor I was trained to be.”

“Learning to teach about God in a way that campers of different ages can understand was really helpful.”
