Emerging from Covid, we did not anticipate having immediately to face another battle-rising inflation. Our operations expenses are higher, summer camper numbers rose to pre-Covid numbers, and we did more with fewer summer staff (but we committed to a much needed increase in salaries). All of these factors are – and will continue to be – a threat to the future and sustainability of outdoor ministries across the ELCA.
So what are we doing about it?! We’re focusing our efforts on redeveloping summer and year-round programming, staff recruitment and leadership development, and improving facilities to keep our camps in top shape. We will continue to uphold our commitment to support every camper in need of scholarships due to financial constraints. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
