Dear Camp Friends,
As we wait to hear from our friends at Luther Springs about the impact of Hurricane Milton, we have important and life-giving news to share.
A long-time friend of the ministry has provided a $100,000 matching gift to help us heal and rebuild our camps. Starting today, this donor will match, dollar for dollar, any gift toward disaster recovery for this ministry we all love so deeply. We know that insurance will pay for some of our damage and lost revenue, but not all of it, and like us, this donor understands that camp helps build servant leaders for the world. The same servant leaders we see responding to our communities’ devastation.
Through the camp community, we have welcomed linemen and volunteer groups from far and near. We are receiving countless calls from groups around the country ready to sign up for a week of disaster response camp at Lutheridge, Lutherock, and Luther Springs during school breaks and the summer. We are partnering with LDR Carolinas and Inspiritus to offer these camps in Western North Carolina and along the coast of Florida and Georgia. We will be able to welcome adult groups year-round for this critical work to support those in our communities who have lost their homes. We are in this for the long haul, and our holy spaces will serve as a base camp for these groups for at least the next three years.
This vital recovery work will run alongside our traditional summer camp and year-round programs as we continue to build community, develop leaders, and form faith. You can make a gift today at http://weblink.donorperfect.com/GiveNovusWay, and it will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000. Select Hurricane Recovery. Thank you, camp friends, for your overwhelming love and response to all those affected by these storms.
