Celebration of Pastors Mary & Tim Canniff-Kuhn

On Saturday, February 1st at 1pm you are invited to join in a worship service of godspeed and gratitude celebrating 25 years of lives impacted by the ministry of Lutheridge under the leadership of Pastor Tim and Pastor Mary Canniff-Kuhn. We will gather at the Faith Center onsite at Lutheridge in Arden, North Carolina for worship, camp songs and communion. A reception to follow at the Lineberger Dining Hall.

Pastor Mary and Pastor Tim announced this past fall that after 25 years of safe, fun and faith forming leadership they will leave their call as Lutheridge Program Directors at the end of 2019. Pastor Tim will lead Lutheridge’s Handbell Retreats and Pastor Mary will lead the Wild Women retreats in the Spring of 2020. Beginning January 1st, 2020, Deacon Chandler Carriker, VP for Program and Engagement for NovusWay Ministries will begin leadership as Interim Lutheridge Program Director and Lori Bode will continue her leadership at Lutheridge as Assistant Program Director.

Join us on Saturday, February 1st to celebrate all God has done at Lutheridge through the leadership of Pastor Mary and Pastor Tim!

Here are more answers to frequently asked questions:

Do I need to RSVP for this celebration?

No, but you can help those planning this event by indicating at this Facebook event whether you are joining us. Seating in the Faith Center will be on a first-come basis.

Where should I park?

We are encouraging attendees to initially park (as they are able) at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity, which is located at 2425 Hendersonville Rd, Arden NC 28704. Shuttles will begin running from Nativity to Lutheridge at 11 am and then again once the worship service is over. Shuttle service has graciously been provided by Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, NC. Thank you to the Lutheran Church of the Nativity for providing parking.

If you do need to end up parking on-site at Lutheridge, the road will be set up as one way, like on Sundays during the summer camp season. Please only park in marked spaces and do not park along the roads. Roads must be kept clear for other guests, residents and emergency vehicles.

Will housing be available on-site at Lutheridge for this event?

Attendees can call Lutheridge registration at 828-209-6328 to book housing as it remains available. As of Thursday, January 23rd, housing on-site is still available!

Will childcare be offered for the worship service?

Children are strongly welcomed and encouraged to be a part of the worship service. We will not be able to provide child care. The board room in the Faith Center will be set up as a site for parents who feel the need to step out of worship with their children, with plans for the live stream to be run in that room.

Will the Lutheridge store be open?

Yes! The Lutheridge store located underneath Lineberger Dining Hall, facing the Faith Center, will be open beginning at 11 am, will close during worship, and then after worship will be open until 4:30 pm.

Will a live stream of the service be available online?

A live stream of this event will be run from Lutheridge’s Facebook page. Download a PDF of the worship bulletin by clicking here.

Is there wi-fi on camp so I can share my memories of the experience?

To allow us to better offer a live stream of this event, the wi-fi which is typically available on-site at Lutheridge will be locked down and hidden for the day. We encourage people in attendance to use their own data to share their experiences in real-time.

I’d like to hang my star in the PB staff room when I’m back. Will it be open?

Yes, the staff room in the PB Unit Lodge will be unlocked and accessible on Saturday so former summer staff who would like to hang their star in the staff room can do so. There will be paper, markers, and tape in the staff room.
