A Message from the CEO

Dear camp friends,

As we approach the end of another remarkable year of ministry, we are thankful for all that your generosity has made possible at Lutheridge, Lutherock, and Luther Springs! Your gifts have helped us navigate some difficult seasons at camp and now allow us to pour our energy into the heart of our mission – vibrant camp ministry.

Each day, the impact of camp ministry overflows in the lives of those we serve. Time at camp is so important for people of all ages, including Shayla and Bella who have become friends through their time as campers. For Shayla and Bella, camp is a refuge from so many of the challenges of everyday adolescent life.

“Being here helps me escape from the stresses of home and school life,” Shayla says. “At camp there isn’t the outside pressure to act a certain way to fit in or the worry that people are judging everything you do.” Bella agrees and shares, “When I’m at camp I get to escape social media and I don’t have to care about all the negative opinions and meanness that can happen at school.”

Shayla and Bella credit the camp staff for creating an environment of welcome and care where campers can feel at ease. “The counselors create this environment where everyone is so accepting,” Shayla says. “When I first came to camp, I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to act,” Bella remembers, “but then I warmed up and realized I can be myself.”

Both Shayla and Bella appreciate how camp community makes an impact on the way they live at camp and the way they live at home. “The time I spend here gets me out of my shell and gets me closer to God,” Bella says. Shayla adds, “Experiences at camp stick with me and make me confident to express myself and do more.”

This is the impact of your giving: young lives renewed, confidence restored, faith deepened. This is why camp matters so much! During this season of thanksgiving, I invite you to make an end-of-year gift to ensure more campers like Shayla and Bella will experience the life-giving grace of Christian community. Would you consider a gift of $25, $50, $100, $200, or even $500 or more to support this vital ministry? Thank you for partnering with us to empower Lutheridge, Lutherock, and Luther Springs so that lives are transformed to love and serve!

Faithfully,

Lauri SoJourner, CEO
